Saving Earth!

Well, one of those things we can do about saving the Earth
on it's environmental health
is to start on our daily life.
And SHOPPING bags is one of the first thing to do!
Yes, ReUSE, ReCYCLE!
or DO NOT USE at all!
Just like it's been printed on some plastic bags,
SAY NO to Plastic Bags!
Those are some of the few that I have collected
and they are quite serious in going about on their campaign.
The regular supermarket near my vicinity has a campaign
for not issuing plastic shopping bags for 3 consecutive days each week.
From Mondays to Wednesdays. So, you gotta bring your own!
Good idea and everybody seems to have adapted to this campaign.
In some countries I know they charge a minimal amount for one.

As what is going on with our daily life, each human being is
bound to harm the earth in one way or another in our daily life.
It is therefore we should all do something that
could benefit the environment!

As it is today  I myself am already feeling the heat energy even though
it has been raining almost everyday, if not at night.
The recent floods in China that has resulted in catastrophic landslides,
and the worst that has happened to Pakistan lately
shows that the earth definitely is bursting.
The global warming has been reported to be getting from bad to worst.
It was announced today that since January this year,
the heat is ever increasing ( infact the worst in decades )
and has been causing disasters the world over!
The threat of a Tsunami is always at bay.
Not forgetting the recent fire emergency in Russia
and some reported over the eastern coasts of Australia.
Do keep up the priority for news on this global warming crisis.
I hear one each day! Take good care....of Earth!

Greener and Cleaner Penang Island!

As I've said it, Penang really is grooming it's Island very well! Tourism is
it's priority as it brings revenue into the country! As what it publicised -
they are all srt to clean up the beaches!
Yes! The seasides of Penang Island is just too lovely and wonderful
to spend a vacation! Who don't like the beaches? But, as always, people
who spent their time there has always so oftenly left their unwanted
things around, littering the sands! Litterbugs!
As announced, there's been an allocation of 1.2 million RM funds
to polish up Penang Island! Really in full swing, huh? Yeap!
The Cleaner, Greener Penang initiative launched on May, 22nd has
really caught the attention of the Federal Government that this
probable fund is being injected into Penang! Well, One Malaysia it is!
After all we're doing for the good of the country.
Then they will have other areas to consider in following up
this good footsteps. Say, Port Dickson and Melaka
( Malacca to many tourists ). Langkawi Island
as well. And the east coasts where it has always
been prone to some bad weathers at certain time of the year.

As from now, many programmes will be actively involved in
this campaign and one of those things are the landscaping.
Yes, the Island needs beautification of plants, trees and flowers!
It will also keep the Island in cool moods as the weather
these days are unspeakably hot! So, green is the word for landscaping!
Credits go to the following participants in this project.

The Going Green is still Going on!

is still going on and still going strong
in PENANG Island!
Though we are experiencing some kind of higher heat, we are still having substantial amount of rain, while the force of nature wrecks havoc in other parts of the wOrLd, especially the recent typhoon that waves from The Philippines to China. At this time, the floods that is occuring could cause an alarming state similar to that of 1998's over flooding of The Yangtze river! The heavy winds travelling at least 128kph will slam through the Guangdong Province and Jilin City as reported in the last few days.
Another flood has also hit Pakistan last week and has claimed to be as deadliest as their previous disaster in 1929!
We are told to expect another Elnino heat identical to 1998.
So we are being told that this year is the hottest season since 1998. It is also being reported by our Natural Resources & Environment Authority that the sea levels has risen off the west coasts. Northwards, Langkawi Island's west coast would rise by 10cm while down south in Tanjung Piai, Johor would rise by 13cm!
Well, but our DID ( Drainage & Irrigation Department ) is doing their job in coastlines rehabilitaion that are listed under Category One. It was said that about 300km of coastlines in the Peninsular has been eroded by the sea.
Well, looks like our relevant authority has been doing a good job too! At least they are taking every precaution to protect the coastlines from further erosion or else our country will "shrink" in the next 100 years as being found that our coastlines will be covered with another 10-13 cm of sea water!
Whereas on land, we have people doing the part by intensifying the Go Green Great Concern!
Currently Penang has been the most agressive! Let's hope people from all over the country will increase their support in going green too!
